Israel; blocking peace possibilities at every turn
JVL Introduction
Ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Zionists is not a recent affair. There was very early realisation that creating a Jewish state on land where others lived required the “removal” of the Arab and Christian Palestinians. For example, in 1940, Joseph Weitz, head of the Jewish National Fund’s development division, said: “It should be clear to us that there is no room in Palestine for these two peoples … not one village, not one tribe should be left.” “This was the ‘transfer’ to surrounding countries advocated by Ben-Gurion, the euphemism for what he knew could only be removal by force.” Further back, in 1905, Israel Zangwill had said “We must be prepared either to drive out by the sword the tribes in possession”
This writer argues that the Zionists have never been committed to a genuine peace, despite pretending that this is their aim but claim that they have no partner for peace when it has been Israel that has occupied, failed to adhere to international law and is now continuing with a genocide, killing more than 1,000 since the so called ceasefire and being in full control of 63% of Gaza and expanding the illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Furthermore it has never agreed to return Palestinian land or honour the right to return for Palestinians.

The Colonial Settler State finally Sheds all Pretense and Flaunts Its True Colors
There is nothing to negotiate now. It’s winner take all or winner lose all and Israel is confident it will be the former

There are decent individuals and some decent institutions in Israel but they’re confronting racist, ideological state power (controlling all the levers of domestic influence) that’s had 80 years plus to twist the hearts and minds of the Jewish population. The state’s insidious power is the most difficult for decent Jewish Israelis to counter.
Just look at the cumulative impact of Israel’s education system and textbooks on the minds of the future parents and the children being schooled. See, for example, “Palestine in Israeli School Books: Ideology and Propaganda in Education by Nutrit-Peled Elhanan (2012) –
on free download from Academia, search via the book title and author. We already know from other research children 3 years old can “learn” to see others with different skin colours as “not like us” and frightening, if that’s what their family and community tell them.
Children’s reasoning powers are only at the early stages of development by the age of 9 … it’ll be very difficult even for non-racist parents to counter the conditioning Jewish Israeli children will have absorbed in their primary schools. Some parents manage it – but it’s not surprising they’re such a small minority (around 5%?).
Israel’s global “outing” as a pariah, Apartheid state MAY counter state control over hearts and minds enough to make some difference – but not soon enough. I’m convinced the best hope for the Palestinians, the Lebanese, the Syrians and the Iranians is for Iran to drive America out of the Middle East and to end any future US support for Israel. It’s a conclusion that surprises me.
