Is Israel too right wing for the right wing?
JVL Introduction
The Israeli government, in the midst of continuing its genocide in Gaza has sponsored a conference on antisemitism. Many who have supported Israel without equivocation have decided to pull out. On 17th March, the UK Chief Rabbi who led the far right march of the flags in 2017 pulled out, along with David Hirsch (an academic who has focused on antisemitism from the left and who was bitterly opposed to Corbyn) and Lord Mann (the so called “antisemitism Tsar”) as reported by Jewish News. A few days earlier the writers of this article reported in Ha’aretz that French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy and Volker Beck president of the Germany-Israel Friendship Society had also pulled out along with Germany’s Feliz Klein, the Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight Against Antisemitism. Now it is too much even for the head of the American Defence League.
Of course, their withdrawal had nothing to do with Israel’s treatment of Palestinians but the Israeli government’s conflation of support for Israel (even from the Far Right) with opposition to antisemitism has been pushed to such an extent that it has become too much even for those who still regard opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza as antisemitism.

ADL Chief Latest Invitee to Pull Out of Israeli Gov't Antisemitism Confab Over Far-right Guests
In a statement issued nearly a week after he was first questioned about his participation, Jonathan Greenblatt said he would not participate ‘in light of some of the recently announced participants.’ He joins a growing list of speakers who have backed out

I noticed in the Jewish News report of this, David Hirsch is quoted as saying “There are too many far-right speakers on the agenda who associate themselves with anti-democratic and anti-egalitarian movements”. So Dovid, what would be an acceptable number of far right racists and fascists to be there?
The tide is turning against Israeli Zionists led by Netanyahu whose only aim is to save himself from the courts.
Okay, okay, it’s a move in the right (certainly not Left) direction. But those really interested in discussing ant-Semitism should see the very notion of an Israel-sponsored conference on the subject at this juncture as a cynical ploy designed to label critics of Israel as Jew haters. As such no one should participate EVEN IF THE EXTREME RIGHT PARTICIPANTS WERE DISINVITED.
The Christian white supremacists and alt-right.., support Zionism…not because they are Jewish… but because their enemy are the Alt rights enemy… for now…
Nationalists and Fascists might talk in support of the state of Israel, ie. Britain first, an anti-Semitic, loyalist racist organisation, a group ‘opposing’ Muslims more than supporting Jews.
You can find echoes of this antisemitic Zionism among some right-wing American Christians who are far friendlier to the Jews of Israel than the Jews of the US.
Benjamin Netanyahu, in 2005 said, “We have no greater friend in the whole world than Pat Robertson” – the same Pat Robertson who later called former US Air Force judge Mikey Weinstein a “little Jewish radical” for promoting religious freedom in the American military.
In 2017, Richard Spencer, who led crowds in Nazi salutes, called himself a “white Zionist” who sees Israel as a model for the white homeland he wants in the US.
We’ve seen The state of Israel strengthening its relationship with non-democratic, dictator regimes across the world.
Israel is strengthening its relationship in Eastern Europe, with countries like Hungary, Poland, and Ukraine, where they have huge problems with anti-Semitism.
This reveals again Netanyahu’s hypocrisy in fighting anti-Semitism.
This whole situation is ‘Ironic’ given the zionists’ extremely patchy record of opposing anti-semitism and nazism in the 1930s.
Hungary’s Viktor Orbán, Heinz-Christian Strache of Austria’s far-right Freedom party and Beatrix von Storch of the Alternative for Germany, which promotes nostalgia for the Third Reich – publicly champion Zionism too.
Regarding White supremacist Christians…It’s more than just ‘Strange bedfellows’
Israel’s current prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in 2005 said, “We have no greater friend in the whole world than Pat Robertson” – the same Pat Robertson who later called former US Air Force judge Mikey Weinstein a “little Jewish radical” for promoting religious freedom in the American military.
Netanyahu and his party welcome the support of these racists. (comment ends as exceeded 300 word limit)
Yes, it’s beginning to dawn on these fools: they’ll eventually come for you too, those charmingly termed “rightwing populists”.
What a shame when you thought all along how magnificent a job they were doing as local enforcers for your ethnic supremacist cause.
Is Elon Musk taking part?
Talking of which, I came across the following a couple of days ago:
