This angry piece by Israeli Human Rights lawyer questions whether Israel is losing the justification for its existence and outlines for example how far Israel is from being a democracy, for example stating: “The Israeli regime of 2025 suppresses criticism. When my parents shared with me their experiences in communist Poland, where the regime canceled theater performances, censored books and imprisoned those who dared criticize it, I counted myself fortunate to have been born in a country where none of this occurred. Well, it’s happening now. It has always happened to Palestinians, on both sides of the so-called Green Line. Now, it’s happening to everyone and it’s happening big-time.”

Most incisively expressed by the admirable Michael Sfard in clear simple terms. Israel from the start was a dystopian idea predicated on creating a state (actually was supposed to be a homeland fir Jews) on a land of indigenous Palestinians, who were probably descendants of the original inhabitants of the country. Zionisms settler colonial intentions were always for transfer and elimination, wrought by terror, and using myths and disinformation to achieve its ends. Its refusal to conform to the UN Charter of Human rights as a member state afforded it a dubious legality underpinned by imperialist powers now it fast diminishing any legality left and has become a genocidal rogue state.

Given the most recent reports from hostages that have been released, to say that they were starved, beaten and abused by their captors is clearly wrong. The main danger to Israeli hostages seems to have been the IDF.
Otherwise, this is a fair and balanced article.
Hmm.. his statement that Israelis have a government that failed to protect its citizens from abduction & that they’re being being beaten & Starved in Gaza.. rather neutralises his so called concern for Palestinians.. Once again an Israeli can’t help but twist the narrative to make Israelis the victim.. the fact this comment is “Hidden” half way through is also telling.. one fatal jab and calling it “Self Defense ” then blame the government.. Ignoring once again the 76 years of previous Israeli governments.. When you disect his article its really all about Israelis losing THEIR Rights.. & THEIR feeling of Invincibility..
