Gaza: a health crisis for generations to come (1)

JVL Introduction

A leading spokesperson from the World Health Organisation speaks of the devastating situation in Gaza, the health needs of the people of Gaza and the weaponisation of aid and his frustration at further restrictions being imposed by Israel.  People in Gaza have endured 2 years of hell and  Israel acts as though they were donating the aid when this is not the case at all.  They have now even closed the Rafah crossing from Egypt so aid can only come through the Kerem crossing in northern Gaza. The amount of aid getting through is less than half of the, at least, 2,000 tonnes of aid needed each day.  This is approximatively 600 trucks, which is little more than were coming through before the genocide when there was at least some agriculture. Only 2-300 trucks are getting in.

We are separately posting the WHO report from October 2nd, before the ceasefire, which outlines in more details the physical and psychological health needs that will impact on generations to come.
