In particulate he explains how their wilful refusal to consider the implications of the leaked GLU report prevented it from allowing it to understand what had occurred inside the Labour Party machine. This deliberate failure allowed it to transfer all blame from those responsible for the the chaos onto Jeremy Corbyn.

Having just read the above all I can say is I would like gallons of disinfectant poured into Labours headquarters. Jeremy Corbyns Team headed by Jenny Formby deserves nothing short of a public Apology. A new Leader must now be sought in an open and transparent election and all candidates financial and Political bankers names should be included in their resume Nothing less should be expected of those applying. Those in position of power now have lost any right to govern. I will not comment on how the party sets about reclaiming the fact that many of those who caused the party damage have as I am aware walked away financial rewarded. This has to be addressed to ensure it can never happen again. To conclude it should pain all true Socialist that a Party that has always prided itself on being a broad church should have allowed evil into its doors. To hear a lovely lady say that she could only think that she must have been considered the ‘The wrong type of Jew for Keir Starmer not to respond to her request to talk to him is heartbreaking. This should be the start of the healing process. For the many not the Few.

Andrew Feinstein is a shining light in the, often dark, field of journalism and political comment. He is always thorough and well researched, and has an unerring logic that contrasts with the drivel which pours from the pens (or should I say keyboards) of the hacks in the mainstream media. I met him once and he is clearly a profoundly committed anti-racist and has been since he was a teenager. I would always defer to his analysis of political events, particularly where racism, or allegations of racism, is concerned.
Sad to say, can’t see The Guardian being willing to let him publish this article in their pages, nor the BBC being willing to allow him the time to give such a thorough analysis.
This is all very interesting, but it leaves out the most salient fact, which was that the claims of antisemitsm in the LP after Corbyn was elected were initiated by supporters of Israel and its racist practices because of Corbyn’s left wing politics in general and history of support for the Palestinians in particular. The right and centre in the LP took this up opportunistically – having no particular interest in either Israel or antisemtism – in order to try to get rid of Corbyn.
The article doesn’t tackle this at all – accepting that the 46 people expelled that it mentions were all antisemites – which is exactly what the EHRC report, and Corbyn and Formby and McNicol all do as well. We know that is not true: people with a lifelong record of antiracism have been expelled or hounded out of the party and most of the examples of “antisemitism” in the LP discussed in the media have been nothing of the sort, but criticisms of Israel.
Best article so far. It neatly dissects and dismisses the convoluted EHRC drivel.
An excellent assessment of the EHRC report.
What can be done about this? I note with interest Andrew speaking of a South African Commission of Inquiry:
“it simply cannot be considered a full, fair and meaningful investigation.
This was precisely the basis on which my colleagues and I worked to overturn a whitewashing South African Commission of Inquiry into a deeply corrupt arms deal last year. Following the successful litigation, the report of the inquiry was set aside. Together with civil society in South Africa we are now attempting to have the judges who ignored vital evidence impeached and possibly even prosecuted”.
EHRC flawed?
* The composition of the panel of ‘legal’ experts……with their own traceable axes to grind. Research Adam Wagner, Doughty Street Chambers.
* A highly disputed definition of Anti-Semitism accepted as sole criteria.
* Secrecy & anonymity ‘the norm’ as complaints made are kept hidden, along with their authors.
* London Law Firms who are dependant on gov’t contracts brings into question their independence & impartiality as part of gov’t machinery.
* Trevor Phillips (member of Labour Party & good friend of Tony Blair) set up the EHRC. Just prior to their Report being published he wrote that the difference between Anti-Semitism in the Labour Party in comparison with the Tory Party was that AS in Labour came from the top. EHRC independent arbiter?
Excellent report by Andrew Feinstein should be circulated everyware. Particularly to: Hodge, Freedland in the Guardian, Cohen in the Observer – also Rawnsley. At LBC – Ian Dale, Nick Ferrari, James Obrien. Plus BBC,channel4, Sky News…

Thank you Andrew Feinstein and the JVL for investigating and providing such detailed and convincing evidence of the falsity and bias in the claims of the EHRC report. Despite the obvious bias of reports in the press, I was none the less was shocked to discover that the Labour Party’s detailed and substantial evidence was not even included in the EHRC report.. It is frankly outrageous that a supposedly unbiassed body like the EHRC can get away with this. It really makes my blood boil. All of us who believe in honesty, transparency and fairness within the Party must spread the word.
Thank you Andrew Feinstein and the JVL for producing this well researched, argued and substantiated report on the shocking bias of the EHRC report. The failure/refusal to include the extensive, clearly presented and extremely relevant evidence in the Labour Party’s own report is frankly shocking and outrageous. I personally had grave doubts about the report, but these findings provide undeniable evidence that these doubts were well founded. I will do my best to spread the word and hope that others do too. We can not stand by in silence.
It is clear that opposition to these outrages from the Party Leadership are growing. Some form of Committee of Inquiry should be set up to ‘independently’ examine all the evidence and publish it – and become a focus for activity. Perhaps Mr Feinstein can head this up. Nothing has upset me more than these allegations of antisemitism since Iraq. A deliberate and orchestrated campaign of disinformation and exaggeration – a tool to remove Corbyn and attack critics of Israel.
