Even Palestinians were shocked!

This may not be the worst of the far too many dreadful things that happen to Palestinians in the West Bank – let alone in Gaza – but it has shocked local Palestinians in its absurdity and its cruelty. The co-operation by the IDF with the Jewish Israeli settlers who, in this case, steal crucial livestock from Palestinians is staggering.

In Al-Mughayyir, villagers were stunned last week when a mixed group including soldiers, police officers and settlers arrived, attacked a family and stole 11 of their sheep before proceeding further into the town and stealing 48 sheep and 12 goats after clearing the villagers from the streets. Not only did the soldiers protect the settlers but Khalil Shehadeh, 17, was killed, shortly before his 19 year old neighbour was also killed by snipers – perhaps IDF soldiers, perhaps settlers. Furthermore, earlier the villagers had been accused of stealing sheep from settlers after reporting an earlier theft of his own livestock!

This is a not so ordinary part of the clear goal of making life impossible for Palestinians as reported the BT’Selem’s The Elimination Project Report .
