Americans for Peace Now Refuses to Adopt ‘Weaponized’ Definition of Antisemitism
JVL Introduction
Americans for Peace Now has taken a brave stand.
It has stood out against the US umbrella organisation, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, in refusing to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of antisemitism.
It rejects the “imprecise, overreaching wording of the definition’s example” and the way it is “already being abused, indeed weaponized, to quash legitimate criticism and activism directed at Israeli government policies by tarnishing individuals and organizations as antisemitic”.
Brave words and brave actions in what is turning into an important campaign, particularly among younger and more liberal Jews in the States, many of whom would describe themselves as Zionist.

Are vexatious claims of anti semitism hate crimes and should they be prosecuted
2 sides to every coin
BDS to start with illegal settlements before expanding sanctions to other areas, nowt wrong with that
Mr Daroff appears to be unable to refute the logic of the APN position and simply justifies the IHRA document by saying that lots of people have adopted it. Seems a bit of a weak argument to me.
When will IHRA definition be accepted by British & American gov’ts as law & any criticism of Israel as ‘hate speech’? It would appear that Mike Pompeo already does.
I fail to understand why those that have weaponised antisemitism, that there will be those that blame all Jewish people and those Jews that are against the weaponising, start to see a rise in antisemitism by the racists who take any advantage they get.
