In the runup to the US elections shocking news emerged that the State Department was planning to label several prominent international NGOs — including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Oxfam — as antisemitic.
Don’t simply believe this will be reversed by the Biden administration, warns Lara Friedman, president of the Foundation for Middle East Peace.
The labelling of humanitarian and civil society groups as “antisemitic” is, she argues, “an inexorable outcome… of an ongoing and escalating campaign” by Republicans and Democrats alike, that weaponizes anti-Semitism to “quash criticism of Israel, attack progressive political actors and movements, and delegitimize civil society organizations.”

I am openly denying “the” Jewish people their self-determination. I defy anyone to define “the” Jewish people and in any case (some) Jews cannot expect to self-determindly settle the Occupied Territories while over-riding the self-determination of the indigenous Palestinians. I am quite happy to argue this point before any court/tribunal anywhere.
