The Common Sense Policy Group based at Northumbria University has led the creation of a blueprint for policy reform with Beveridge Report ambitions to bring an end to poverty and inequality in Britain.

Working with researchers from Northumbria University led by Prof Matthew Johnson, we have a range of well-known radical academics and campaigners such as  Danny Dorling, North of Tyne Mayor Jamie Driscoll, We Own It Director Cat Hobbs, Compass Director Neal Lawson, health campaigner Allyson Pollock, and The Spirit Level authors Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett

Their report Act Now, discussed here by Mike Phipps, sets out what they call straightforwardly “a feasible, affordable and popular programme to deliver the security we all need that gives us a future worth working for.”
