Israel has no right in law to exist

By Leah Levane

Outlined here are some of the many ways in which Israel does not have a “right to exist”. Even beyond the general position vis a via States compared with people, Israel has time and time again violated international law from the Nakba and ever since.

Israel; blocking peace possibilities at every turn

By Leah Levane

Not once has Israel engaged in negotiations aimed at a genuine settlement based on the return of Palestinian land. Every single negotiating process broke down under the weight of Israeli objections. Each one was used only to gain further ground and consolidate settlement of the territories seized in 1967.

Gaza has reshaped the world. Ramzy Baroud 2026 Jewish AntiZionist Congress

By Leah Levane

Gaza has changed the world and resulted in “a profound rupture in the way much of the world now views Western institutions.”  The failure of the western powers to live up to their claims to care about human rights has been exposed.  Israel has continued to act with impunity and yet, Baroud argues the key story of Gaza is “the extraordinary resilience of the Palestinian people.”

Open letter to Andy Burnham

By Richard Kuper

We post below a letter to Andy Burnham, incoming leader of the Labour Party and Prime Minister, written by Jewish members of Holocaust Survivors and Descendants against Gaza Genocide (HSD), Jewish Voice for Liberation (JVL – formerly Jewish Voice for Labour) and Jews for Justice for Palestinians.

Associated correspondence from the HSD to the Minister of State for Policing and Crime, Sarah Jones MP, signed by 42 Holocaust survivors and Descendants, and her totally inadequate, indeed insulting, response is attached.

The toxic legacy of Starmerite philosemitism

No matter. He is now determined to fashion a legacy out of loving Jews…

47 days of protest in Albania against a politics for the super-rich

By Leah Levane

There has been remarkably little coverage in the mainstream media on the 47 days of peaceful protest (so far) by large numbers of people in Albania.  Initially protesting the sale of protected wildlife land – a nature reserve – to Jared Kushner (the same man who plans to turn Gaza into a holiday resort) and Ivanka Trump, it is now also a protest against government and political leaders,  against corruption and for a country run for ordinary people.

Partners by design: the military-industrial complex today

By Richard Kuper

In this insightful but complex (and somewhat gloomy) analysis Jacob Ostfield explains how the modern military-industrial complex (MIC) exemplifies “a cyclical process that develops and refines technology through carnage”.

The extensive alliances he discusses, between big tech and the US military, are not opportunistic anomalies, but part of the plan.

This is how the AI boom today  has come to represents “the apex of military-civil fusion: the same technology used to commit genocide and wage war abroad is the largest source of economic growth in the US today.”

Rabbis for Human Rights under assault in israel

By Richard Kuper

Friends About a month ago, we were told to leave our offices at once. For years our home was the Mevakshei Derech Synagogue in Jerusalem. A synagogue. Then Shai Glick, a right wing activist branded by Israel’s own Ombudsman for Judges as a  “serial complainant who doesn’t verify facts” told the city that a human rights organization had no business … Continued
