More myth busting about Zionism

JVL Introduction

Robert Rosenthal has selected and dispelled seventeen myths about Zionism from “making the desert bloom” through “Palestinians have been repeatedly offered a state but rejected it” to “there is no genocide”.  He comes from a background similar to many other Jews; being told lies and not being told the truth about how Israel came into being and all that has happened since. It is highly likely that our parents and grandparents also had only part of the story hence they often perpetuated these myths, but also, perhaps, a profound lack of curiosity.

It is astounding that this is still necessary and that the myths continue to dominate the narrative and, for example, the way journalists question people, especially those who support justice and freedom for Palestinians who are always expected to “condemn Hamas”, to understand that “Israel does  not accept that it is carrying out genocide” and also to consider the feelings and sensitivities of Jewish people (or rather Zionist Jews).

To their discredit, the Chief Rabbi, the Jewish Establishment, the British government and most of the legacy media all seem to operate in what we can politely term “ignorance”, probably wilful ignorance.

The article is actually from November 2025 but is still highly relevant and useful for all of us trying to counter the narrative that continues to dominate in far too many mainstream media outlets and amongst far too many politicians.
