Charles Lenchner grew up in Israel in more innocent times.
He reflects here on Nicholas Kristof’s recent article The Silence That Meets the Rape of Palestinians in the New York Times and the outraged responses to it.
The Israeli government is says it is suing the NYT for defamation – a blood libel! How could anyone suggest such things?!
All too easily, affirms Clenchner, as he recalls how the scales fell from his eyes as a teenager in the 1980s.
