And in at least one of this week’s by-elections (Newnham), the voters’ very loud answer has been “We’ll elect a REAL Labour MP to represent us, not the one you tried to foist on us”.
In another of the elections, the Green candidate beat the sitting Tory candidate AND the official Labour candidate. The voters don’t have to vote in Labour to get rid of the hated Tories; rather than vote in a Starmer appointee, they opted to support the Greens.
Starmer and Reeves: ‘fiscal discipline’ and ‘sound money’ – the MacDonald and Snowden of our age. And we know where that ended up! Of course, history doe not repeat itself nor is it always a tragedy first time around, and farce the second time. The issue is: will the TUC protest and will Labour MMs listen. I have my doubts about the latter.
What’s the point of voting for them?
And I’m not going to vote for them. A marginally less vicious Tory party.
People around my constituency stopped voting labour when the got rid of the accident and emergency back in the 90s they have 4 councillors out of 32 and they are still parachuting candidates that are not local and nobody knows can’t see them regaining trust on the current performance.
All facts.
Another fact is that, because of these facts, there is not much reason for a voter looking for socialism to vote Labour….

“Lost the plot” is one of those cliché comments; and it really does seem to apply here. I do also rather wonder how much this particular captain is in any sort of real control of the ship.
The “Labour” Party doesnt exist: Its so far removed from its founding principles and those who founded it. It isnt, nor ever will be, a vehicle for change. It is firmly cemented as the single biggest obstacle to Socialism and Social Change. At times its hard to consider whether we are wasting our valuable time on it.
In other words: sweet FA., and much more of the nasty stuff as detailed on the long list plus whatever else they are dropping on us. So sad and unnecessary.

They are not going to do anything that upsets Sun and Daily Mail readers.
Just looked at Labour’s missions! This sentence seems like a great example of Labour’s muddled thinking.
” To end the threat of a two-tier health system, we will use spare capacity in the independent sector to ensure patients are treated quicker.
So – translation – To end the threat of profit making private health care forcing people to pay for essential care, we ( Government ) are going to pay for it with your taxes in order and end the two tier health sysytem – the taxpayer can pay for NHS care and profit making Health provision !! Its just that most procedures / care will be rationed, or deemed “cosmetic” or non-life threatening -so won’t be covered! Oh that will be the death knell of Private Healthcare for sure!!
Not going to promote nuclear disarmament.
Not going to try to end the war in the Ukraine.
Not going to equalise tax rates on earned and unearned income.
Thus Rishi Sunak’s 22% effective tax rate will not change under Labour.
Are they pledging to do anything useful?
Yeah but it will be Labour rather than Tories not doing those things. How much better is that?
Such a full programme must surely inspire all our activists, maybe even a few voters.
As a non-Jewish supporter of JVL I have for several years questioned their obsession with Labour Party membership. When will enough be enough?
Expect…..nothing. Demand EVERYTHING ! Our votes will put them there, they need to pay attention to their electorate.
yes this Starmer and his hopefully more morally correct Tory party mark 2 I fear. no change there I fear.
What are they going to do then? May be outTory the Tories in enriching themselves and their corporate backers?
