Labour conference set to host weapons manufacturers and spyware firm
JVL Introduction
Fossil fuel companies, private health firms, major banks and the International Airlines Group, which owns British Airways will have a presence at this year’s Labour Party conference.
More shocking, so will manufacturers of missiles, Boeing and Babcock, and, even more controversially, spyware firm Palantir.
These last three firms will be sponsoring fringe events hosted by centre-left media company the New Statesman Media Group.
Ruby Lott-Lavigna unravels some of the disturbing connections and records these firms have.
Clive Lewis is a model of restraint when he says: “I think there are questions there for the New Statesman and why they’re accepting sponsorship and funding from some of these ethically and morally questionable corporations.”
Is it too cynical to say that we’re not surprised to see the corporate world muscling in as the prospect of a Labour government looms large – and to see Labour rolling over with delight at their advances.

Thank goodness I left the Labour Party. Should I shout. Should I SCREAM What happened to the post war dream. ????✊✊
All this is shocking. At the very moment in history when all these organisations’ activities should be most severely questioned, the Labour Party decides to befriend them. But, sadly, it is not surprising. It is symptomatic of the logic which underpins the desire of the Labour Party’s leadership to demean the great political, ethical and moral ideals on which the Party was founded, and make a wreck of the traditions which expressed those ideals. The journey that leadership has chosen to take from Left to Right is almost complete, and it is devastating.
A more peaceful world forms no part of Starmer’s agenda.
