This antisemitism is for real – and it comes from the right

Nick Fuentes, described as “the most popular representative of neo-Nazism in America”, was recently invited to chat by Tucker Carlson the most influential right-wing commentator in the States today.
Classic antisemitism is alive and well as old-school neo-Nazism merges with currents in the MAGA movement.
In the process, pro-Israel hawks who have lined up with Christian Zionism for decade, are suddenly finding themselves in the spotlight accused of disloyalty, of being alien.
And their immediate response: to try to defelct criticism on to the left and critics of Zionism.
But, as MJ Rosenberg remarks:
“The real antisemites don’t chant “free Palestine.” They chant “Hitler was cool.” They don’t argue for equal rights in the Holy Land. They argue that Jews are an alien race and that white Christians should “stand up for themselves” against them. They don’t run for office in New York City on a platform of tenant protections. They livestream monologues about expelling Jews from America.”

And doesn’t emanate from Palestinians or self-hating Jews

DT, the icon of the Fake Right brought the embassy to Jerusalem for a country that won’t join sanctions against Russia N Korea and harbors oligarchs. China does Haifa’s shipping using Russian oil.
Tucker came damn close to forcing the American press to end any fixation with Jews and finally identify Zionism as a Protestant-majority movement.
I found this video both informative – for its ‘granular detail’ – and infuriating in equal measure. Despite the left liberal pretensions of both Klein and Ganz, there is no acknowledgement of the open and shameless racism which afflicts almost the entire political class whether Republican or Democrat.
The very formulation of the Israel lobbyists’ strategy cited in Rosenberg’s introduction above exposes this stupidity:
“They thought they could make a deal,..They could engage in racist demagogy… but draw the line at Jews.”
The liberal blindness here lies in the unspoken contradiction that, even in the face of a genocide, there existed some way to indulge in pro-Israel advocacy without racist demagogy.
The discussion of the role of the internet and social media at the end is also intellectually rather weak. It fails to analyse the essential role of political economy in the algorithmic manipulation of the internet by the oligarchs who own social media and AI, both of which are increasingly designed to promote successful diversionary or fascist narratives by a process strongly resembling natural selection.
