An excellent, must-read article in New Socialist putting its finger precisely on what we are fighting for: another world is necessary, another world is possible. We can move on.
“There is a sense that something around us is dying, and it is joyous that it is dying. A sense that a whole new range of possibilities- possibilities around how we live, how we work, how we love each other- are finally within our reach, and that all we have to do now is persuade people in our communities that it doesn’t have to be like this. We are being born. And what we, in turn, may give birth to is so worth fighting for.”

It is a very good, very inspirational piece. I just wish the author had taken his vision beyond the Labour Party itself. To win, or, more realistically, to be the single largest party, Labour needs millions of votes from non members and to secure support from other non-right-wing parties too. Even this article, I feel, sees this as a Labour project, rather than something much broader, with a much much broader ownership.
