Respirators for Palestine – emergency Covid-19 appeal

JVL Introduction

IMET2000 is a medical education trust working for international cooperation in healthcare education and research. One of the countries where it is most active is Palestine, currently facing a critical emergency because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Sunday we received an appeal from IMET2000’s founder and director of overseas development, Colin Green, Emeritus Professor of Surgery at University College, London. The college hospital has worked on development of a respirator for which licences have been granted for production in Gaza and the West Bank. Now the trust has been obliged to launch an emergency appeal in order to bring the project to fruition, because its usual fundraising avenues are closed due to the pandemic.
