Andrew Burgin writing in the Morning Star records the jubilation which has greeted news of an apparent dramatic leap forward in plans to form a new party to the left of Labour and calls for a rapid widening of the involvement of grassroots activists in its formation.
He says:
There has been understandable frustration at the lack of information regarding the discussions around a new party. I know from the Independent Socialist Councillors group that I helped set up that many of the councillors are very dissatisfied with not just the secrecy but the pace of developments….
There is much to discuss: structure, internal democracy, constitution, election strategy, grassroots organising and policy formation. All these need the input of the movement as a whole and cannot be the property of a small, unelected group of people.
Burgin says this must happen urgently as “We cannot afford to miss yet another boat.”

With Sultana and Corbyn united, we finally have Britain’s new left party
The suspended Labour MP’s historic resignation to found a working-class party has lit up social media with excitement as thousands knock at the door wanting involvement in the desperately needed project.

I wouldn’t count on Bermie Sanders, he is an apologist for zionism.
For the first time in years I feel some real positivity and hope that we have a chance to make this a better country for the great majority of people that have suffered hardship at the hands of those politicians who only have their own interests at heart.
I have always been of the opinion that a new party would need to have Jeremy Corbyn on board because so many people realise his honesty and feelings for those who have been mistreated over the years is 100% genuine. He is an inspirational speaker that uplifts the spirits of those that listen and want a kinder and fairer future going forward. Certainly the establishment, with the assistance of the mass media will do their utmost to make things difficult for Corbyn but that is because they will want to maintain the status quo which will continue to reward themselves at the expense of others. That position must not be aloud to continue any longer. The future must belong to everybody.
what chances of a “Popular Front”?
No, we are not in good hands. An unknown hand-picked bureaucracy is in charge of this oreparty. Corbyn himself assembled them. The source if thus is to.prevent potential uncontrollable militancy. This is always the central problem when.parties like this are being forged. Rhus entity needs to immediately open its peso new shouldvidentifyvthenselves. Corbyn and Sultana are eft reformists who live and breathe mere electoralism and paiamentary cretinism. I am fully I favour if thus initiative and been openly calling for it for four years on social media. I donated a tenner to “Team Sultana.” However as militant worker I have no illusions whatever in these leading personal, who stand for capitalism, class society and big incomes for MPs. No Trotskyist should laud or extol these opportunist.left MPs.
This could be the perfect time for a True Socialist Party.
Starmer is a complete fraud and has proven beyond doubt that he’s as Rightwing as any Tory and a Traitor to the People, his policies are the complete opposite to Socialism. The New Party Led by Zara Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn, have proven they have the Qualities to lead it.
With at least 2 years to build the Party up, it has every chance to win the next GE.
Jeremy doubled the Membership and made the LP financially sound, he would certainly do it again and wouldn’t have Traitors in the Party actively working to stop him from winning. Zara is the perfect partner, she has made some brilliant speeches in Parliament and stands up strongly to aggressive Journalists. I’ve already joined.
