Just like Corbyn, Zack Polanski will face smears and ridicule
JVL Introduction
Zack Polanski, the radical new leader of the Green Party, can expect to be subjected to the same treatment that was meted out to Jeremy Corbyn when he was perceived as a threat to governments and corporations. There are already signs of state-corporate media, including of the so-called centre, cranking up an operation designed to deceive the public and reinforce social control, writes David Edwards for Media Lens.
The article is not uncritical of Polanski, noting that he had been on the wrong side of the argument about antisemitism in the Labour Party under Corbyn. But Edwards’ overall message is a warning to those of us committed to challenging a corrupt and increasingly authoritarian status quo. Once again, a politician telling truth to power is the subject of character assassination, smears and ridicule, their policies dismissed as juvenile, emotional and unrealistic.

‘Sixth-Form Politics’ – The Propaganda Blitz Awaiting Green Party Leader Zack Polanski

I sincerely hope Polanski will learn from the horrid example of Corbyn’s demonisation and manage to communicate directly with the public instead of being portrayed in MSM -including the BBC and the Guardian – as a stage hypnotist with a slender understanding of realpolitik.
What is the apotheosis of the mode of thinking depicted in this article? Trump and MAGA. It is such an irony that Trump meets with such disapproval and contempt in the UK while Farage, Trump’s most cringing acolyte and sycophant, is greeted wherever he goes with something bordering on adulation. So many kick against the horrors Trump is imposing on the USA while giving serious thought to allowing a version of Trump to govern them. This is the shocking effect a corrupt and self-seeking media has had on our society. When the media seeks to control events and not just report on them, then truth gives way to fantasy, morality loses its power, ignorance has power, and resistance is only as effective as those being resisted will allow. We have a real fight on our hands, and it goes far beyond mere party politics.
Who owns the press in Britain? That’s all you need to know.
