Judge rules police raid was unlawful

JVL Introduction

Asa Winstanley’s home was raided by police in October 2024.  This week a judge ruled that this was unlawful.  Winstanley is just one of the far too many journalists and activists whose homes and/or property have been raided.  Since the raid and confiscation of devices more than seven months ago, Winstanley has been neither charged or arrested and yet the investigation into his tweets is ongoing.

Below Asa recounts his experience, what the Judge said and has added a link to a statement from his lawyers and also a link to an article by a colleague on Electronic Intifada.
