A group of prominent Israeli and Jewish scholars, many of whom specialize in the study of the Holocaust, antisemitism, and Israel, have have protested strongly at what they describe as a “shameful attack” on renowned African professor Achille Mbembe.
The charge, by Felix Klein, the federal commissioner for Jewish life and the fight against antisemitism is that Mbembe has drawn parallels between apartheid South Africa and Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians.
