Solidarity with Gaza aid ship Conscience, attacked by Israel

Remember the Mavi Marmara in 2010 where ten activists were killed? Or the Jewish Boat to Gaza that same year, also brutally prevented from reaching Gaza , which was captained by JVL Secretary Glyn Secker? Thankfully no one was murdered on that boat. Last week, Israeli drones attacked the Freedom Flotilla’s aid ship to Gaza; as before this was in international waters, this time off the coast of Malta where more activists, including Greta Thunberg, were waiting to board and sail to Gaza to try to break the total blockade that Israel has placed on the Strip since March 1st.

It has been unclear whether or not the Maltese government will allow the boat to dock there for repairs . However, on the evening of May 6th, the Malta Independent published a piece headed Government says it will carry out repairs on Gaza Freedom Flotilla vessel out at sea.  Two days earlier the Freedom Flotilla issued this Press Briefing on the Drone Attack Against Freedom Flotilla’s Ship Conscience saying Malta was preventing this;  hopefully the more recent report is correct. The attack itself cannot be forgotten or forgiven; the blockade is a war crime and people are starving under the bombs.
