They failed.
Now our job is to ensure that the party and the government can’t ignore the overwhelming conference decision to accept the landmark UN Commission of Inquiry report into Israel’s genocide and to implement wide-ranging measures, from a full arms embargo and an end to military cooperation, to a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements.

Following a crucial conference motion, Labour has finally recognised that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza — but the struggle to drag a reluctant party establishment toward justice continues.

Let’s not for one moment kid ourselves, that there is life yet to revive and resurrect the corpse of the Labour Party. They are a rump of any kind of political party. Of course, they will block, delay and ban people from opposing their “policies” and resolutions at conference. That’s all the Starmerite Coup was about. They are nearing their end, having hollowed out the organisation and handed the Far Right, Reform, and their fellow travellers, the key to 10 Downing Street.
Our role must be to engage with the organised left positively, pursuing our aims and principles without compromise, and form part of a broader working class movement to halt the fascists, fill the political vacuum and offer a Socialist Party which has balls to stand up and fight.
