For New Year, Israel bans major aid organisations from Gaza

On 29th December Israel decided to ban major aid organisations, including UNRWA  from working in Gaza with effect from 1st January! We publish the statement from the Head of UNRWA on the impact of this on any agencies seeking to work in support of international law as well as providing vital support for people in Gaza still suffering horrendously, suffering greatly exacerbated by Israel’s blocking of much of the aid agreed under the Trump “ceasefire” agreement including desperately needed shelter as worn tents are getting flooded and ripped to shreds in winter storms.

Below that we publish an article with information about other agencies, including well known ones such as Doctors Without Borders, parts of Oxfam, the Norwegian Refugee Council and many more.  Israel are demanding that they vet staff lists but most agencies are concerned not to do that,, however, “organizations expressed their concerns and offered alternatives to submitting staff lists, such as third-party vetting, but that Israel refused to engage in any dialogue.”

We await the outcry from governments across the world…….
