Blaming the victim – the assault on truth in the Gaza war

Aaron Maté argues that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s recent statement on the war on Gaza is an outright endorsement of state terrorism.
Highlighting Israel’s routine blocking of life-saving aid, its wanton recklessness in attacking civilians, its free use of 2,000-pound bombs with US agreement, and above all its assault on the health infrastructure of Gaza, this is a useful overview – and indictment – of the ongoing slaughter in Gaza being perpetrated by Israel with the US’s full support.
Maté has no hesitation in holding Biden and his administration to account for support for a war on Palestinian civilians that “goes beyond any act of US barbarism in recent memory. Complicit in mass murder, [they] are also engaging in unprecedented levels of deceit, from lying about civilian hospitals to pretending that the perpetrator of a genocide is in fact the victim.”
And where is Keir Starmer in all this?

Speaking as an old sceptic, one of the few people who I would believe without reservation is Aaron Maté. Whoever controls US foreign policy, be it Blinken or Biden, and I suspect it is the former, it beggars belief.
None of this is funny, but Irish activist /comedian TADHG HICKEY (featured recently interviewed by George Galloway) has a 1 minute video “Human Shields” showing the representation of the Israeli position in few words but right on the point. Check it out. He says Ireland understands the colonial mentality.
