The campaign to delegitimise criticism of Israel is an ongoing one and no opportunity is spurned.
A synagogue in New York City is used to auction off stolen West Bank lands. Not surprisingly, a Palestinian solidarity group protests.
And, par for the course, it is accused of being antisemitic.
MJ Rosenberg shows how phoney and manufactured the indignation is.
The protest is not anti-Jewish, nor – even – anti-Israel. It’s what it says it is, a protest about the sale of stolen land.
The sale is being held in a shul – a community building, used for all kinds of activities not just praying. They not rendered sacred by virtue of where they are held.
As Rosenberg says, “The venue is being used to launder a political project with religious symbolism” – nothing more.
“The real question is simple: when will parts of the right-wing Jewish establishment stop…calling opposition to settlement expansion “antisemitism,” and calling protest itself a hate crime?”
Clearly, no time soon…

According to the usual suspects auctioning stolen land is sacred and must be protected.
