The British State has lost the argument but…

British Justice was on trial when Tony Greenstein was charged with supporting Hamas and, once again, the Jury found him not guilty. We could say British Justice was found to be working but rather, as Jonathan Cook puts it the British State has lost the argument but has not given up the fight. We must also consider the attempts to silence Tony, to silence lawyers acting in defence of their clients and, in the case of Rajiv Menon KC, continuing with a prosecution for daring to do his job ie to advise the jurors of their rights.
Many people are still on trial and some are in prison; people who are pursuing peace, an end to war are taking up prison spaces when we hear daily of how overcrowded prisons are and that potentially dangerous offenders may have to be released early. Over 3,000 people are charged with supporting terrorism for holding placards taking up police and court time when there is a huge backlog of cases partly resulting from COVID lockdown but mainly from cuts in services from the austerity measures since at least 2010.
Here Cook not only celebrates one more victory for an activist standing up for Palestine but highlights the wider context and the importance of Juries that the Starmer led government wanted to be used much less. So far Burnham has said this will not happen; let us hope he means it.
Meanwhile Judges try to insist that courtrooms are not places for politics but when the State is prosecuting peaceful protesters, sentencing as terrorists people charged with and found guilty only of criminal damage, I cannot imagine many places that are more political than that.

The failure of the mainstream media (other than the BBC, fleetingly) to report this case is a disgrace.
Another excellent article exposing how we are slipping into authoritarianism. The mindset for genocide is very similar to that required for ecocide. I explore these ideas in my draft research paper about the cultural causes of climate change. My paper addresses the emotional evolution required to fully acknowledge the frightening reality of our predicament. It weaves together psychology, geopolitics, environmental science, economics, philosophy and demography into a single, cohesive framework that might help to steer humanity into a wiser direction.

A farcical trial with poor old Judge Sarah Plaschkes was completely out of her depth. Thank god for juries!
Tony’s speech at the end of his completely unjustifiable court case should be learned by heart by us all. Masterful doesn’t describe it adequately. It is classic, and he should be remembered and commemorated for his bravery in uttering it to the jury, which, all twelve of them, must be highly credited for acquitting him. Free Palestine!

Judges are clearly not impartial or at least some of them.
Tony Greenstein with integrity and honesty has had to endure horrendous legal proceedings.
We are fed state propoganda and must look past that.
Terrorism/ists is not as simple as the west labelling those who do not fall into line with imperialists’ ideology. This is a nuanced conversation and the public are not given facts. It appears truth is treason.
Regarding Hamas have they committed terrorist acts outside of Israel? AND which part is the ‘terror’- the administration or the armed wing? AND will european states look like for like at IDF and Mossad too as terrorists groups.
Remember Truth is Treason.
