Blair blames the left to justify genocide
JVL Introduction
Jonathan Cook writes a detailed take down of a recent article by Tony Blair, prompted by the North London attack on four ambulances that belonged to a Jewish charity. Blair blames the left for aligning with “Islamists”. Cook makes clear that “Blair is doing to Muslims precisely what he accuses – falsely – the left of doing to Jews. He is conflating Muslims, a religious group, with Islamists, champions of an extreme political ideology.
Yet he considers it patently antisemitic to conflate Jews, a religious and ethnic group, with Zionists, champions of an equally extreme political ideology – one whose adherents still mostly deny a genocide in Gaza.”
There is much to note here not least the perfidy of Blair’s pronouncements on Hamas, saying the left has no right to criticise Israel unless it criticises Hamas, unless it recognises the reasons for not allowing food and other supplies into Gaza. It is a good reminder of the perverse lens through which the ruling class see the world. It is racist and genocidal but perhaps this is not so surprising as it would be difficult for the Rony Blairs of the world to face up to their own responsibility for deaths and destruction in Iraq, Afghanstan, indeed Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos as well as Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq. The left is capable of holding two things to be true at the same time, Iran is run by people who repress those showing dissent, who kill protestors and more AND that bombing people is never good and collective punishment is not going to win people over to support those carrying out the bombing.

Blair’s latest deceit-riddled column vilifies the UK left to justify genocide
Britain former PM shows there’s no price to be paid for engineering mass slaughter in the service of western empire. Which is why those crimes not only continue, but grow in scale

I’m kind of worried by the tone of this from Jonathan Cook– though not so much, I hastily add, as I am by the undead Blair still having so much power and influence when (surely) everyone in the UK despises him…
The fact is that the burning of ‘a handful of ambulances’ happened in the UK and it is our business to prevent racial attacks on any group in this country. Secondly, there were apparently comments on social media saying that the arson was a false flag operation or an insurance scam by plotting Jews. These remarks came from people who called themselves friends of Palestine although who knows what the rest of their politics are…possibly on the left, though, at least in their own eyes?
This is just one example where I feel Cook’s attitude is off. In the context of the huge crimes against humanity being committed daily in our name, burning ‘a handful of ambulances’ with magen davids on the side may indeed bear no comparison , but I personally am unhappy with some of the tone of this article although I agree with its horror at Blair and his grotesquely cruel and false arguments.
I reject the word Islamist. Imagine i used Judaist for zionism. Its disgusting and opens to conflation of all muslims as we are all Islamist, Islamic Muslim.
Theres also no proof ANY muslim did this. Arsonists usually return to the scene of their crime. Quite odd how David Soffer was ready and waiting with his hate. Ambulances that were being scrapoed now paid for with my tax money all whilst 7 mosques have been attacked. Fires, defaced, burgled. What a disgrace.
I thought Johnathan Cookes criticism was justified. Over 200 ambulances around the country last year were vandalised. Why are we allowing a disgraced ex prime minister so much sway in public opinion. I despair once again. I sometimes wonder if I’ve been transported to a dystopia universe.
