This essay written by Moshé Machover back in July is undeniably relevant to today’s apocalyptic events. It is a fascinating examination of how the biblical “promised land” narrative has been harnessed in the service of settler-colonisation.
He describes “how modern Zionism not only forged a nation through religion, but finds justification for ethnic cleansing and genocide in the words of Yahweh.”

I know only one Jewish family. The last time I met David he said, not in reference to Gaza or the Occupied Territories, that ‘he had great difficulty in convincing his religious brethren that the Nation of Israel refers to the Jewish people and not a patch of land.’ This makes sense to me.
