Trump’s support for ongoing Nakba – it will be resisted

JVL Introduction

Zionism has always seen ethnic cleansing as inevitable and necessary; this had nothing to do with the Holocaust or of “Arab” resistance.  The early zionists believed that a Jewish State meant a State only for Jews.  That they have tried to turn their failure to expel all the Palestinians in 1948 is used as “proof” that this was never the intention but for many from Jaotinsky and Herzl to Ben Gurion and Kahane and most recently Ben Gvir and Smotrich.

Roland Rance also notes that even “Liberal Zionists” felt it was necessary to expel the Palestinians. He quotes Benny Morris from a 2004 interview with Ha’aretz: “If the end of the story turns out to be a gloomy one for the Jews, it will be because Ben-Gurion did not complete the transfer in 1948. Because he left a large and volatile demographic reserve in the West Bank and Gaza and within Israel itself… The non-completion of the transfer was a mistake.”
