Is the government really out to suppress all solidarity with Palestine?
JVL Introduction
Craig Murray gives a devastating account of how the proscription of Palestine Action is playing out.
As predicted, the police are already abusing the provisions of the Terrorism Act, contrary to the expressed wishes of those who introduced it and the most recent judicial interpretation of it by Justice Chamberlain.
It is being used to instil fear in those who wish to protest at Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
It is being use deliberately and provocatively to clamp down on perfectly legitimate activities
We have to ask: is this what Starmer, Jarvis, Cooper, Nandy et al really wanted all along?

It seems that when the substantive case has a first hearing on 21st July, the claimant’s lawyers will have some up to date evidence to show that their concerns were by no means ‘hyperbole’ as Chamberlain J so naively suggested.
The judge trying today’s case said police officers enforcing the ban in the last few weeks have misused or misunderstood the law when shutting down protests that have no link to Palestine Action.
When presented with the Laura Murton case (she was threatened with a terrorism arrest for holding signs accusing Israel of genocide and stating “free Gaza”), the judge said “This is obviously an officer who doesn’t understand the law at all”.
Blinne Ni Ghralaigh KC, acting for the Palestine Action co-founder, said neither Kent Police nor the Home Office have apologised or publicly stated that the police action against Ms Murton was wrong.
The judge’s blunt condemnations will hopefully shame Kent Police (and other police forces) into changing their policing of protests against Israel’s genocide.
The group’s lawyers have compiled a dossier of police actions since proscription was introduced, arguing that the government’s ban should be lifted as it is having far-reaching consequences on free speech.
SHOW NO MERCY

have shown themselves, in truth
to be no better than terrorists
and must be dealt with, accordingly
