Israel is no partner for peace: opportunities and warnings Netanyahu missed
JVL Introduction
A thorough investigation for a new book is summarised in this Ha’aretz article, giving jaw dropping information about the warnings Netanyahu had and ignored before October 7th, including from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
Not only that – earlier in 2023, “with Netanyahu’s knowledge and approval, Israel held talks with Hamas on a “hudna,” a temporary truce aimed at promoting a long-term arrangement in the Strip.” There had also been potentially positive talks for some time that were stopped by COVID but had started again. There was some real optimism that the two sides were close to at least a form of peace; however Netanyahu failed or perhaps refused to take any action to make progress with this possibility.
In September 2023, in relation to warnings about a major forthcoming attack from Gaza, bin Zayed said he had tried to convey to Netanyahu that “something there is about to explode,” …(but) the Israeli prime minister believed the volatile area was, in fact, the West Bank.”
NOTE: It appears that Netanyahu is threatening to sue Ha’aretz for this article.

I think it is important to ask why there has not been an inquiry into October 7.
Who benefits from this?
This is really important and thank you for publishing it in full and in its detail, despicable as Netanyahu’s behaviour has been. The tissue of lies continues and now against Miliband…
There must be a inquiry re Oct 7th . The MSM, BBC, ITV, are still saying stuff like rapes, killing babies etc for which there is no evidence anywhere. Also, the context of Hamas attack, which without doubt was brutal yet reported with a complete failure to understand the context of breaking out of an outdoor prison Camp. Forgetting the years of suppression and killing of Palestinians before Oct 7th. It does not justify killing any civilians, of course,, but evidence of Israel, the IDF implementing the Hannibal project is left out entirely, so it is not known how many were killed by Israel.
