Educators for Peace call out UKLFI’s SLAPPS strategy

UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) is accusing a Scottish teachers’ organisation, Educators for Peace (EFP), of “promoting politically partisan and arguably antisemitic materials for teachers to use in Scottish classrooms including to very young children.”
UKLFI announces proudly on its website that it has denounced EFP to the Secretary of State for Scotland, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills in the Scottish Government, Education Scotland, and every Scottish local authority and the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), as well as separately referring “individuals associated with EFP to the GTCS for investigation into their fitness to teach.”
But EFP, an informal network of educators set up in August 2025 in response to the pervasive silence in schools and colleges about events in Gaza, is fighting back with a petition and a well-argued public statement, which we produce in full below.
They categorically reject the allegations contained in UKLFI’s fifty-page dossier and note that UKLFI is itself the subject of formal regulatory investigations by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Charity Commission, for allegedly using legal tactics “designed to silence rather than resolve political disagreements.”
EFP says it is working with partners “to hold UKLFI accountable for its use of what we consider Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs). We regard these as lawfare tactics intended to suppress legitimate advocacy and education on Palestine, and we do not believe this should go unchallenged.”

When this GENOCIDAL conflict in Gaza end a genocide intended when this abhorrent RACIST GENOCIDAL creed first appeared jut over 100 years the ILLEGAL Zionist Israel of Israel armed to the teeth with US weaponry ILL BE NO MORE : The network of military bases that litter the Middle East with weaponry almost exclusive supplied by the US WILL BE NO MORE : The DEPRAVED absolute rulers of the Gulf sates also armed by the US and who have relied on the US to protect themselves from their own people WILL BE NO MORE . The war criminals in Bothe the US and Zionist Israel who have carried out this GENOCIDE will hopefully be incarcerated for their crimes . But none of these crimes would ever have been possible but for the support of other actors and principle among these are Lawyers like UK lawyers for Israel They and a compliant MSM have been essential for the GENOCIDAL PROJECT .They must not be allowed to escape their complicity in these dreadful events .
I think any negative entity/ies that uses the law to silence voices that speak out about Palestine and/or criticise Israel is dangerous.
It would appear Lawyers of Israel exist to use the law to shut down any groups that support Palestine and/or criticise Israel.
I think that’s really dangerous to silence voices in this way and manipulate the law. It seems this is the role of their existence. Not debate but to shut down those voices who speak out.
Very much like past regimes that used these methods to silence resistance.
Is it even conceivable that any other country, say the UK, would have a lawyers team specifically to stop free and fair action by another country, e.g. Turkey? (imagine a ‘ Turkish lawyers for the UK’!!!) How is it even allowed to function?

Come to that how isJVL ‘always with the opreessed’ on oppression by countries other than Israel?
Reading Educators for Peace statement and looking at their website shows that they promote learning about oppression in many places. JVL is an organisation for people who oppose injustice everywhere. But let’s be clear – Israel is the only oppressor state that is allowed to silence its critics in the way EFP tries, legitimately, to counter.
