Chaos in Gaza suits Israel’s future plans

JVL Introduction

What next for the people of Gaza: he c 2 million of whom 1.4 million are crammed into tents and almost all are crammed into the area not strictly controlled by Israel, c 54% at the announcement of the “ceasefire”, then nearly 60% and according to Netanyahu, soon to be 70% of Gaza?  The Gaza Strip was already the most crowded place on earth and now those who have not been killed in Israel’s genocide are to be crammed into just 30% of the area, mostly in tents or in – or more likely on – the ruins of their homes.

The Board of Peace (sic) has nothing to offer the people of Gaza and is following Israel in its declaration that Hamas will never be able to rule Gaza “civilly or militarily”.  Defense Minister Israel Katz tells us that: The voluntary migration plan will also be implemented, all at the proper time and in the proper manner.” But Israel has also opposed rule by any Palestinian body or even an international organisation and is also “not willing to govern the Strip itself”. Here Gideon Levy concludes that this means that ” Israel doesn’t want any organization to govern in Gaza. It wants 2 million people in tents. It will make their expulsion easier.”

Is Israel hoping for anarchy, for chaos so that it will be easier to expel people? But few people in Gaza have any intention of leaving and some who left are returning and also where are they to go?
