The Jewish Chronicle has been running rings round IPSO, the Independent Press Standards Organisation.
Today the press regulator has the chance to reconsider its failure to investigate the JC’s multiple editorial failures.
As Paddy French shows in the article below, it has had ample time to call a halt to its lies and smears.

Jewish Chronicle: Ipso Farcical
TOMORROW MORNING (October 29) the board of the press regulator Ipso will discuss its troubled relationship with the Jewish Chronicle.
For seven years the watchdog has been trying to enforce editorial standards at the paper.
After Ipso ruled against the Chronicle in several high profile cases, the board decided to put its faith in training for the paper’s journalists.
It didn’t work.

I’ve had reason to complain about articles in the JC. In all of the cases, the matters wouldn’t have arisen, if they had been in touch with me. This seems to tally with some of the stories in this article, where the person concerned was not contacted. If there really is a pattern to this, then the question that needs to be asked is, ‘Is there a policy to not contact people that the JC is identifying in a hostile way?’ In one serious case involving me, I am guessing (but do not know for certain) that it was only because it was a lawyer who wrote to the JC on my behalf that the end result was a quick and important revision of the article.
All those other red lines that had been breached then were acceptable…no doubt because they were libelling British pro Palestinian supporters,
Leading Jewish Chronicle columnists abandoned the paper, including writer and comedian David Baddiel and the journalists David Aaronovitch and Guardian writer Jonathan Freedland. Freedland said Jake Wallis Simons had shown only the “thinnest form of contrition” over the scandal.”
