Following Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi’s election as a member of Labour’s NEC as part of the Grassroots5 slate all hell has broken loose.
The Board of Deputies of British Jews, Jewish Labour Movement, the CST and a variety of hostile individuals are falling over each other in their rush to condemn this democratic outcome.
Alex Nunns summed it up nicely when he tweeted: “The Labour right might consider whether it’s confusing to wage the fight against antisemitism by shouting and screaming about a Jewish woman winning a seat on the NEC.“

Mike Katz, chair of the Jewish Labour Movement: check up his daytime job. His company is in the news but somehow not his name and job.
I just did a (duckduckgo) search re >board of deputies< to see exactly what they said about Naomi, and one of the articles that came up near the top of the list of results was an article in Jewish News from May, 2018, headlined: 'Hundreds of British Jews sign letter criticising Board of Deputies’ Gaza response', in which it says the following:
A Board of Deputies spokesperson responded to the letter, saying: “We treasure the diversity of views in our community……"
Unless you have a different view about Jeremy Corbyn and LP anti-semitism, that is.

Congratulations to Naomi on a hard fought and cheering result. Though I cannot share her faith in the democratisability of the Labour Party, I applaud this blow to the Labour right, which in my opinion can only hasten the internal struggle leading to an inevitable break up of the party and a realignment of forces on the left.
The apoplexy of the serried ranks of UK zionists who pose as leaders of “the Jewish community” merely illustrates the boorishness and intellectual vacuity of their outpourings. They have no arguments left based on rational discourse, which is why they no longer engage in it, but rely instead on scurrilous defamation of their political opponents, amplified by the huge resources at their disposal. Their continuing influence arises only from their hitherto steadfast support from the UK ruling class and its political and media acolytes, who increasingly incline towards a domestic version of white nationalism as a suitably divisive vehicle of oppression. However, as even a few adherents of the apartheid cult dimly perceive, much of this support for zionism as an ally is based only on cynical calculation and international realpolitik.
There is no stable world alliance of competing ethnonationalisms, nor can there be. White nationalism has a far deeper connection to antisemitism than its temporary flirtation with the zionist cult.

I don’t believe Jeremy Corbyn is anti-Semitic. I’ve known him for the 22 years I’ve been in parliament. Even, actually, when I was a right-winger we got on pretty well. He was quite a personable individual….. He’s been very supportive of me and I’ve never detected so much as a whiff of anti-Semitism.

You have really cheered me up and, I am sure, numerous other socialists fed up to the teeth with the hooligan antics of Labour’s right-wing who behave as if they own the party.
I think as well as placing comments here and copying them to social media other avenues should be pursued in this matter, via CLP’s although we know how that will end, Trades Union Branches, Trades Union Councils and many many other organisations involved. Here is a template motion on the Labour Party and Starmer and Evans in particular, that can be adjusted to your need, it offers another avenue to pursue this.
We the ………………..branch / CLP / Trades Union resolve to seek:
1. An immediate investigation into the details surrounding this declaration (E9.8) in the Forde Report.
2. The immediate implementation of an investigation into the individual, Sir Keir Starmer MP, and his role in the sanctioning, authorising and implementation of this education and training programme including the exclusion of a legitimate Labour Party Group, namely, Jewish Voice for Labour.
3. The immediate implementation of an investigation into the individual, David Evans, General Secretary of the Labour Party and his role in the sanctioning, authorising and implementation of this education and training programme including the exclusion of a legitimate Labour Party Group, namely, Jewish Voice for Labour.
4. In such circumstances it is normal for the named parties to be placed on administrative suspension and we believe that this will only be right in this regard.
5. The Labour Party leadership immediately be passed to the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
6. The Labour Party General Secretary role be temporarily appointed, to an individual, to be determined by the Acting Leader of the Labour Party.
7. The outcome of each of these investigations to take no more than three months.
8. The outcome of these investigations, when concluded, to be released to the Labour Party membership in the spirit of transparency.
Fantastic Naomi, you’re a real inspiration to those who are prepared to stand up for justice and honesty in UK politics, in particular, for the Palestinians who are suffering greatly from racism and subjugation in their own land

In the USA, AIPAC has supported financially Republican members of Congress who denied the 2020 election results.
And regards John Bercow, and what he said in respect of Jeremy, I can only assume that Jeremy interacted with him regularly during the period he was leader of the opposition…….. much more so than he did as a backbencher.
But there was never so much as a whiff!
