Palantir – OK for the UK but not for Switzerland

Palantir has won several contracts with the UK government, despite its use by ICE in the USA to target people for deportation and its heinous role in creating kill lists for the Israeli military in Gaza and serious concerns about security, which is one reason UK MPs (including Labour MPs) are raising their concerns.

As outlined by  the Palestine Solidarity Campaign “Palantir is a US-based surveillance company. As reported by Investigate, Palantir entered into a “strategic partnership” with Israel’s Ministry of Defense in 2024. It provides advanced AI tools to the Israeli military, enabling Israel’s attacks on Palestinians. The company has close ties with Israeli intelligence and supplies technology that facilitates mass surveillance and targeting of Palestinians.”

For more on Palantir’s perfidy, here is a Guardian podcast “Palantir: the world’s ‘scariest company’?” from 9th December 2025 and in May 2025, Democracy for Sale (dfS) reported that UK is government withholding details of Palantir contract , and noting that “KPMG is being paid £8 million to promote (this) tech in NHS hospitals” and that DfS was “being forced to fight for information about this public contract.”

One reason for paying KPMG was to encourage take up in the NHS, many parts of which found it ineffective and now the Swiss Army are saying they do not trust it in terms of security.  Nonetheless and unbelievably, the UK government seems to have no problem with such a company having access to our personal data and its use by the UK military.
