Netanyahu has no majority in the forthcoming Israeli elections in October, but neither does the opposition coalition.
Netanyahu is trying everything. His strongman-who-can-provide -Israel-with-security image may be tarnished but he is fighting to the last.
Here he brings Mamdani into the gallery of enemies alongside the leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.
The message: the “Muslims” are out to get us. Only I can protect you…
But by including Mamdani on the billboard, says Mitchell Plitnik, Netanyahu is admitting he is losing the United States.
It may prove dangerous for him to remind Israeli voters of the fact – for which he himself will no doubt be held responsible.

Netanyahu’s campaign billboard lumps Zohran Mamdani with Iran and Hezbollah as an “enemy”, an admission that he’s losing America, and that no successor will fix Israel’s underlying apartheid problem.

Netanyahu’s overreach has brought about a change in the world’s perception of Israel. If Hitler had contented himself with capturing Germany the Allies would never have banded together to destroy him. By invading Europe he brought about his own destruction. Israel still has powerful backers in the west and Middle East, but over the coming decade as voters respond to their new perception of the Zionist project that support will wither away. We can only hope that the change in the balance of power does not come too late to save what remains of the Palestinian people and their hopes of reclaiming the land that was once theirs.
