My favorite ‘anti-semite’ and the Zionist thought police

JVL Introduction

“The media panic,” writes Tony Karon veteran of the anti-apartheid struggle in Souoth Africa, “over Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the Democratic Party Primary for Mayor of New York reminded me of this piece I wrote 18 years ago, when the same “anti-Semitism” charged was leveled at Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a lifelong beacon of moral clarity. So, reposting the 2007 text here, because (sadly) it never gets old.

A timeless takedown of the Zionist Thought Police and “their apparent inability to restrain themselves”.

My favorite 'anti-semite'

In honor of the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and all those who refuse to be silenced on Israeli apartheid and genocide by bogus claims that denouncing those abuses amounts to hatred of Jews

  • A big influence in South Africa was that of the Dutch Reformed Church. The Afrikaans people were heavily Protestant and carried their big family Bibles around with them. They were the ones with the power.

The Old Testament has much to say about other peoples in a land, and their “inferiority”, which was the basis for Apartheid. With the end of WW2 and the arrival of a nationalist government, the segregation of peoples took place and Apartheid got into full swing..

Eventually, the DRC realised that this philosophy was nonsense, incompatible with Christianity, and manipulated public opinion to get adherence to it changed. It helped to have really decent, well-educated people like Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu around.

Proper Jewish religion is humane, but the Amalek philosophy is highly prevalent in Israel at the present time and is the cause of much of the trouble there.

Footnote: I worked in South Africa, 1980-84, met Winnie Mandela (twice, in Brandfort), and Zinzi (took her to lunch) and have family and other connections in the country.
