Harassment of Diana Neslen by the Labour Party – help us fight it

Six weeks ago a letter was sent to the Labour Party about the harassment and discrimination of one of our LA4J members: Diana Neslen, 82 year old observant Jewish widow, a lifelong antiracist who has been appallingly accused by the Labour party of being an antisemite. As yet we have had neither acknowledgement nor reply. We have therefore been left with no choice but to send a ‘Letter Before Action’ for the purposes of the Pre-Action Protocol.
Our legal team have told the Party that, while we would naturally prefer to avoid proceedings if at all possible, we reserve the right to issue proceedings if they fail to respond to this letter within 21 days.
Diana claims indirect discrimination related to a protected philosophical belief contrary to section 101(2) EA2010; and harassment related to a protected philosophical belief contrary to section 101(4) EA2010.
We are asking for a disclosure of Diana’s investigation and disciplinary file, including the complaints made against her, the materials obtained by the Labour Party about her, and all records of decision-making in her case. We are also calling for any internal documents or correspondence relating to Jewish Voice for Labour, including whether JVL officers, committee members and/or supporters are targets of the Labour party precisely because of their involvement with JVL.

We are calling again upon the Party to apologise to Diana for its discriminatory conduct and harassment; to undertake not to pursue any further investigations against her in respect of her philosophical beliefs, that are in contravention of the Party’s Handbook, Policy or other PCPs; and to undertake to provide an update on the progress of the complaints she has made within one month of the date of this letter.

Is it really the case that appeasing the most backward forces by harassing an 82 year old Jewish widow by accusing her of antisemitism is part of a strategy for winning an election?
This is a shocking indictment of Starmer and his careerist ilk.

I have contributed to this legal fund. I despise the top-down cowardly bullies led by sinister stooge Starmer, who is ineffectual as a normal leader.
I applaud brave Diana Neslen, who has principles so lacking in most of the Parliamentary Labour Party and is facing out the sly lies of the oppressors.
Harassing an elderly woman is the classic stuff of an old-time witch hunt. It it is indeed not a present day election winning strategy. In addition to Starmer’s other attributes, minimal common sense is evident.
Please keep contributing to the legal fund. The struggle should be a push over, but the new management of the Party is stupid enough to dig itself in.
For G_d’s sake? Don’t you understand how dangerous this 82-year-old observant Jewish woman, Neslen, really is?
She is a noted Ilford subversive who believes devoutly that all people should be valued and treated as equals.
She is a threat to everybody with stocks and shares, exclusive club memberships, a public school tie and a Tory Party membership card in their arse pocket.
This woman – a convinced adventurist – could bring down civilisation as we know, wreck the Stock Exchange, unravel British capitalism and undermine NATO, the G7, the World Bank and the IMF.
It is now apparent that she is also a monumental threat to the Labour Party of Keir Starmer and his circus that entertains nobody and whose main function appears to be to wipe out any notion of Labour as a left–wing party.
The worst of all is the fact that Neslen relentlessly employs a nauseating favouritism in her politics, supporting ne’er do wells like the working class, minorities, the disadvantaged, the poor and the hungry.
Such partisanship is, of course, absolutely intolerable and the ruling Oaf in Downing Street has now entrusted the task of dealing with her and all her supporters,especially the Jewish ones, to the Starmtroopers (who are not in Downing Street).
Absolutely pathetic reaction by the Labour party and anyone who causes this lady any hurt or pain. While, as an anti-racist, anti-colonialist type, I happen to agree with Mz Nelson’s views. If this were an 82 year old pro-Zionist, I would still hate to see her caused any hurt or pain. Sorry for sounding backwards in my views, but Children and the Elderly should always be protected from all attacks within any civilised society (as should most if not all groupings). Please Labour, stop attacking Jewish people for being antisemitic. Just because it makes attacking non-Jewish people for the same views more awkward, doesn’t mean you should adopt such a simplistic approach. Lots of love to Mz Nelsos for being true to her principles irrespective of who’s at fault. That’s courage.
