Former Labour councillor Jenny Manson defects to new left party

JVL Introduction
Jenny Manson, co-chair of Jewish Voice for Liberation (JVL) – which was until last week Jewish Voice for Labour – had been in the Labour Party nearly all her life.
We reported earlier on her decision to resign after a lifetime as an activist in the Party.
Earlier this week Jenny in a Talk Show programme with others including Martin Forde KC, Helen Marks, Rica Bird and Chris Romberg, and in a press interview (see videos below) .
Middle East Eye was present and interviewed the participants. We repost that interview below.

I have just watched Jenny Manson on the BBC News. I cheered quietly to myself when she made the comments about the groups supporting Palestine not being antisemitic. Since the terrible attack in Manchester and the ongoing slaughter in Gaza I have grown very angry about the extent to which Israel and the Jewish faith are spoken about as being synonymous. Netanyahu has been accused of war crimes and genocide. There can be no doubt that the slaughter of innocent Palestinians (of many faiths), children and the relentless bombing of schools, hospitals and so-called safe zones and food distribution sites cannot be described as anything other than genocide. Jenny Manson’s interview and her statement to this effect is the first time I’ve heard it put so succinctly!
Jews in Britain and around the world shouldn’t have to feel under threat and the Press, Media and politicians could and SHOULD make a supreme effort to break the inappropriate language which conjoins Israel and Jews. I believe the very poor understanding of this simple fact among a large part of the population will fuel levels of antisemitism and lead to worse troubles.
For the record, I am a 76 year old white English man, I am not a follower of any faith. I am utterly sick of seeing the human race ‘hijacked’ and generalised in the way that it is! Well done Jenny Manson for injecting such a significant dose of logic and commonsense into a world gone mad!
Well done, Jenny! The Labour Party ought to be re-named the Zionist Party of Great Britain because that is what it is. I was one of the first to be suspended after Starmer came in as leader and I am surprised that there are still some decent people in it. YourParty gives us all hope.
