The 2023 Antisemitism in the UK survey

JVL Introduction

Invitations have just gone out to participate in the 2023 Antisemitism in the UK Survey.

We’d like to draw your attention to it. The panel surveyed is open to all who wish to participate. You simply have to register for it and there is an open invitation to do so.

We would encourage you to register. Our point of view, as we are all too painfully aware, is so often treated as illegitimate and ignored. It is harder to do so when it is recorded in any national survey.

The JPR notification of the survey with more information is reposted below.

Dear  XXXXX

Thank you again for being part of the JPR research panel.

We are now inviting you to take part in our latest research – the 2023 Antisemitism in the UK Survey. The questionnaire seeks to understand Jewish people’s perceptions and experiences of antisemitism in the UK, and is designed to ensure that policymakers working in the Jewish community, government, law enforcement and civil society have essential data to support their work tackling antisemitism in the country.

This survey builds on similar studies conducted by JPR in 2012 and 2018, and has been constructed to align with a similar study of antisemitism in Europe being conducted at present by the EU. By working in this way, we will be able to measure not only how antisemitism has evolved in the UK over the past decade, but also compare the findings here with those found among Jewish populations elsewhere on the continent.

Taking part is entirely voluntary, and all data will be held securely and only used for research purposes. Your individual answers will be treated in the strictest confidence and no individuals will be able to be identified in the results.

This is a particularly important survey that offers you a valuable opportunity to both share your views on antisemitism today, and record any antisemitic incidents you may have experienced. You can take part by clicking on the link below, which has been created especially for you, so it should not be forwarded on to anyone else. We estimate that it will take 20-30 minutes to complete; if you want to complete it in more than one sitting you can use your unique link to return to it at any time, and it will pick up where you left off.

Please click here on your unique link to start the survey. [JVL – To get a link you have to already be a member of the Panel – it is simple to register here.]

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Yup. Have just contributed to the survey. Opportunity at the end to add in any comments, and have.

  • I have been doing these surveys for some time now. While I can always quibble with some aspects, I have mostly found the questions they are asking and the concepts they are investigating to be well thought through, reasonable, and worth devoting some time to. And they do genuinely appear to want Jews of all shapes, sizes, politics, orientations, colours etc to answer.

  • Are left thinking Jews represented or does Israel decide they are irrelevant, not visible?
