A letter from Abu Dis
JVL Introduction
We wrongly attributed this letter to former Cherie Blair advisor Fiona Millar, for which we apologise
We are keeping the letter on our blog as we feel it has intrinsic interest through its clear description of life in Abu Dis under Israeli occupation
The letter in Camden New Journal describes how reputable human-rights organisations like B’tselem, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International “have come to agree with what Palestinians have been saying for years – this horrible situation is apartheid, deepest racism”.
Millar laments the lack of coverage in the British media about the realities of life for Palestinians.
We also post further information about CADFA and its fantastic work in raising awareness of the (worsening) situation and bringing people in Palestine and Britain together.

Published here the same day as the LFI’s annual lunch addressed by Rachel Reeves, who holds a very different view of Israel.
The mainstream media has turned a deaf ear and blind eye to the grievous human rights violations committed by the Israeli state against Palestinians. In contrast, they never miss an opportunity to focus on Russian transgressions against the Ukrainian people, which, while understandable under the circumstances, apparently has prevented them to provide comparable attention to what’s happening in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza. Fortunately there are Palestinian journalists who are adroitly using social media to raise awareness of the situation, and they are joined by a growing wave of activists in the UK and elsewhere.
Seems unlikely that it would have been written by THAT Fiona Millar, who went canvassing for Luciana Berger at the last election!
