JVL Introduction

We mark the death of Leila Shahid, a remarkable Palestinian, who represented the Palestine Liberation Organization in Ireland and the Netherlands, and then the Palestinian Authority in France and finally the European Union in Brussels.

She never wavered in her commitment to the Palestinian cause and did her best to futher it, despite her disillusionment in later years with “the incompetence, mediocrity, and failures of the leadership” back home.
